That "big burst of flame" is scary. My oven does that a lot. I get scared Im going to get burned one day. I had my robe on one day when i saw that flame and I thought, geez what if it caught me on fire. That would be the end of my victoria secret robe. . So I don't wear long sleves and hope that my arm doesn't get burned instead.

    Becareful everyone.

Glad you are okay. I am surprised no one has made masturbation jokes yet. But then you have to have a sense of humor about these things. Hugs.

You have to watch blended fabrics around flame. !00% cotton is pretty hard to flash up like that... a blend will ignite easily. All cotton will char but shouldnt melt or drip when burning. I used to demonstrate cotton with a propane torch at safety meetings... it takes a bit to get it burning

I just checked the label in the bathrobe and it is 100% cotton. I wonder why it flashed up like that so quickly.

    Thanks for all your comments.

<thinks out loud> is that bathrobe fuzzy? If it is that fuzzy terrycloth would be quicker to flare up than a flat weave like denim,

Glad you didnt get hurt too bad....that could have been a disaster.

Glad you are OK now. What a fright!!

My sister-in-law caught her nightie on fire a couple of years ago. She was leaning over to either light or blow out candles. Burned her chest. And she was embarrassed, too. Didn't say anything about it for a couple of weeks.
