After a long pause, he said Jesus is at every one of your meetings--are you?
You may have missed him. He always sits in the back. See, he has a beard and it keeps him from having any "privileges". He's kind of embarrassed about it.

It does not get much worse than that illustration. We have reached a new low.
Perhaps we should start the thread with the Q. " If Jesus WAS at the meeting, what do you think he would say".
Any body else remember Mathew 23? No wait! The Watchtower Overseer would never take his hand unless his answers were brief, to the point and from the paragraph....
The quoted illustration assumes that they go to meetings in the hope of personal material reward? Well, perhaps they do...
I'm not knocking meetings. I know that first century christians did have the custom in attending and being fortified by them. Of course these were meetings that were once a week, and I'm not sure about the duration of them as well. Somehow, I don't think that the 1st century meetings for the christians, required them to have additional meetings during the week, and discuss changed magazine presentations, and speak 20 minutes about you could pioneer, followed by another Q&A about the behaving at the upcoming District Covention. I didn't sense Jesus's presence during that time. I somehow think that meetings are really being exploited to make the publishers ready for the weekend service arrangement. Honestly, I don't get the feeling of being motivated. I used to a long time ago, but, I think that the direction now lacks joy, and encouragement. The illustration was charming, and warm but it felt like a fairy tale. Sorry.
wasnt jesus the one who took umbridge with the temple being used for business?

if he turned up at the hall and started kicking over the book counter....he'd be ejected very quickly.
Ironic. No one ever gets healed at JW meetings, but they do at Pentecostal ones. Maybe the CO was subliminally suggesting people convert and go where Jesus spirit is manifest.
