So i ditched my book study 2 night... and felt like sharing a thought

  And it felt good i was able to get some school work done but i still have a long ways to go...i just hate being couped up in the house that's all... anyways i was thinking Why do Jehovah's Witnesses perceive X-JWs as like the "lowest sum of the earth" are we that evil because some of us decide to leave and choose a life that we want wheather it be with some goals and asperations or seeking another route of worship/non-worship, while still being alive on this earth today the reason why i'm asking this is because i'm occasionally missing meetings in order to get good grades in the classes that i am taking now. i don't think tmissing 1 or 2 meetings is too much to ask right? but i feel that i'm starting to hear all the "MURMERING" from the dubs and all the madness surrounding it. Do u ever feel that it is an insult to ur own character in some respect? i don't think all x-jw go off and drive their cars off a cliff lol.

  It feels great to do what YOU want to with your time isn't it?

  Let them murmur....

  It's your future that you're preparing for, and how many of the JWs will be taking care of you or paying any of your bills later down the road?

  Keep up with those studies, it will pay off big in the long run.

  Just wait until you graduate, and get a higher-paying job than the rest of them .... the murmuring will increase hundredfold!

  XOCO- Good thread and thoughts by you ! Indeed most ex- JW's do not drive their cars off cliffs or turn into drug abusing raging , murdering lunatics either ! LOL! But the witnesses want you to think you will fall to pieces if you get out of the cult ! It is part of the mind control game they play by instilling fear in rank and file members - so witnesses will never leave the faith. They make you so scared by " false " predictions of what will happen - that most won't venture to leave out of fear of what won't even happen ! It is really evil mind control on the part of the Watchtower society - to keep people like you from getting a good education that you really need ! XOCO- don't believe their BS for a minute - be sure to keep your own goals , and your own free thinking mind ! Good luck, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

  That little "fact" ticked me off more than anything else. I made sure to squash that lie whenever it popped up around me--sure enough, no one says it in my presence anymore!

  Good for you, choosing school over cult meetings, XOCO! I take it you're not in a liberal congregation.

  Actually, i am in a liberal congo...their are a few dubs who have their degrees but are not working with it now but are able to get by and have some decent savings.i think it has to do with my culture b/c all the dubs in my cong came from a 3rd world country and we all know what's its like being poor if u understand what i mean. and it just hurts me to see that u have american kids born here and the WT is denying them out of an edu. and in my culture the parents are relying on the kids to be able to take care of them when they are old.. they have a morbid fear of nursing homes LOL

  Oh gosh i forgot to mention the look on my moms face when i told her i was not gonna go she was like 'who's gonna drive me, its too dark'- I was not definetly laughing when she said that b/c i did not want some thing terrible to happen... but now its kind of funny LOL

  Keep going to school!!!!! Don't let them control your mind!!!!! Don't worry about the rumors or any of that crap. Since I became inactive in April 2007 I've enrolled in school to get my PhD and many career opprtunities have opened up since I'm not a slave to all those useless mind controll meetings. Be strong and don't give school. Grades are important!!!

  XOCO, I think you've already worked out that the meetings are a waste of time but you keep going because of family.

  If you start missing a few more, your mom will get used to it. Just tell her not to worry. After all, you are studying - you are not going out socialising.

  Hope your study goes well - it's worth it.
