Ah, Leolaia,
Do you think I could get a little jam on all those dry crackers?
Thanks just the same, I'll store your words in the fridge.

A little research into the hebrew word for Man and Adam in the old testament is intresting.
The hebrew word for both Adam and man at the beggining of the bible at least is aw -dawm.
Makes me wonder whether Adam was his actual name.
Yeah, it's dry, but it wasn't intended to be a literary or poetic exploration of the figure of Lilith. Your post quite beautifully illustrates this living concept and meme. What I was trying to do was sketch out about a thousand years of history in the evolution of the concept. The intent here was to address the statement in the original post that the Lilith tradition is "information that wasn't included in the bible". My point is that this "information" did not yet exist when the Bible was written. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of dry detail to show this. Sorry about that.
Leo,
Don't be sorry. You have opened up for me, many, many store-house boxes from the past. Whole libraries that I didn't even know existed.
These words apply to you along with so many other ladies on this forum:
Comes Lilith, at last-
By plane, by foot
By taxi, by wheelchair
With shoes, without shoes
From back alleys and the bedrooms
From cardboard boxes (92)
Collectively, the feminine you, have thrown off your Watchtower burka's, stepped out of the dark closets non-creativity and into the light and fresh air, and are singing the songs of freedom.

Ah Leolaia I was hoping you would post - thanks for that detailed post - long but puts it more into perspective.
I shouldn't have said ""included in the bible"" but rather that there is so much info (in all sorts of media: myths, facts......) out there and through a very meandering thread connected too (even if not in true hard facts) to the bible.
There are quite a few good sites on the "origin of lilith"
Very interesting thanks for that....hope to catch the show. I've found History channel VERY enlightening when it comes to the bible..it's my new "Faithful and Discreet Slave."
