Just slow down there, good buddy.

You take back your life. Good. But don't get so excited that you are focusing
on that light down the roadway, but not on that lamp at your feet.

Part of the A.A. method that I don't like, but it is correct, is that ONE-DAY-AT-A-TIME
thing. It's a bit of a defeatist attitude. "Alcohol defeats me, so I must get through today
    sober."

Sure, do this. Be happy. Look down the road, but focus more on the individual steps
    of your feet.

As an elder, I would have been skeptical of you getting help from a woman who is a
massage therapist. As an ex-JW, I don't feel that way, but make sure you are not
more than a friend- don't be infatuated with this person. (Stop laughing, it could happen.)

    Power to ya.

John, just how key an ingredient is WILLPOWER in beating this thing? I have never had much, never been real self-disiplined....aways hated working out and never stuck with it. I am going to try to have just enough willpower for each day......that would do it wouldn't it? Then you have made it another day...........................thanks again.....Eric.....I actually have hope for the first time in a long while and it feels good!

    Hi Ompa,

Among the many things that are hard to break is addictions to Smoking, and Alcoholism.

I have seen someone who kicked both habits after struggling with it for over 20 years.

I'm not qualified medically/professionally to offer advice in this, but would like to pat you on the back and wish you well. I've seen it mastered by others before. When you do master it, you will find that your life will be much better.

    All the best,
