Damn, Oompa. You have got to stop the yo-yo lifestyle. You have reminded me of my brother tonight.

He stayed sober a few days- he got shitfaced the rest. Added a little of this-a little of that.

April 7 1995 he put a gun to his head.

I don't want to hear or see any more crap like this anymore. It really hurts to see someone doing this. Please think about the concequences. Good night my friend.

I don't think it takes will-power. No one is that strong. It takes a really strong desperate desire to change, and it takes being really really sick and tired of the addictive lifestyle. And then it takes a good memory - every day you have to ask yourself "now why am I doing this?" and you have to remember the answer!!!

    Oompa,

Willpower didn't work for me. It was useful in other aspects of my life, but not dealing with alcohol. In fact, the less I relied on willpower, the better off I was.

OK, one thing that I've heard is keep some candy on you or drink OJ or soda, unless it's a drink that you often use as a mixer. Your body is gonna crave simple sugar's for awhile. Also, if you relapse, don't beat yourself up. Just get back on that hoss and keep going.

Interesting JK, but you are going to help me understand this a bit. What attribute did help you then? I am not going to try and understand everything overnight, but your comment did get me thinking......Funny as avishai mentioned, I have already noticed I want some ice cream after dinner! I will enjoy the cold stuff in place of the hard stuff!.....................oompa

Life does get better, but there will always be problems. Learn to not get overly excited about the good or overly depressed or dejected about the bad. Life has its ups and downs, and coping skills are all you have to keep you in the seat of that roller coaster.

    One day at a time,
