Heck they lie when they say it isn't proper for a witness to lie. As others on this thread have brought up.

I've heard all this, "I cannot lie, I'm a Jehovah's Witness", it is just rubbish
They are more than capable of lying at any time, any place, particularly when in a corner.
They, mostly the elders are just like cornered rats, in such a case.
They will even lie about The Branch Office, CO's and DO's.
My wife's PO says, "jw-media.org is an apostate wewbsite"!
That is because it has information there which he doesn't agree with!
They are and can lie, don't fool yourselves.

there was something more recent in the watchtower study article( by recent i mean in the late 90s to early 00s) where it said the same thing over about they could lie under oath if the person didnt deserve to know the truth........ so yeah they will 100% lie to you.
