The media/govt needs to keep fear of the US people at a sustained level in order to keep support/justfication for the bombing, and to convince them they need to give up more freedoms and rights. They will keep trotting out new fears as the public becomes inured to old ones.

The media have struck more terror into the world than the actual terrorists did.

Do you really think that Bin Laden did it? I dont.

The FBI knew of the attacks BEFORE it happened. It was on the internet and we have all seen proof they knew of it, there are posts somewhere. There is an enemy within, and its not Islamic extremists.

The media have STILL not stopped milking it, and most likely never will. By spreading reports of anthrax, smallpox possibilities, nuclear possibilities etc they are instilling FEAR into the world. Which is EXACTLY what the west say they are FIGHTING AGAINST...

People NEED to wake up to the reality that the matrix is closing in on the planet, people need to avoid being plugged into it, and this means not believing the lies and propaganda.

Its like in the X Files movie, while the visible governments are fighting visible wars, the invisible governments are fighting invisible wars. They use things like this as a cover, or to shift focus away from something else.

You should use your WT experience to see the absolute BULLSHIT in the story that is widely put out.

The power in this country, and the world for that matter, isn't wielded by the president, congress or the military. We are under the control of the media; and to a lesser extent the Federal reserve system. Billions of dollars are made and lost, millions of lives are affected via a few words on the nightly news by a few arrogant and incompetant news reporters. I'm a firm believer in fredom of speech, but some of these reporters need to be gagged and horse-whipped.
Amazing; perhaps you would like a career in journalism!

    SevenofNine,

I thought I would make a brief comment or two on your posting about using shaped charges to blow holes into radioactive waste containers.

Having actually used and studied explosives in college (Geophysics) I'm somewhat familiar with shaped charges. They are simply explosives shaped in such a way as to use the explosive shockwave to penetrate objects deeply. They are actually rather simple to make and very effective.

The U.S. Army made public a book decades ago about making improvised shaped charges. All you need to do is buy blasting cord (also called detonating cord) which is a rope like material that is used by farmers to blow up tree stumps. You simply cut open the plastic casing and remove the explosive which is a military explosive called PETN. This is mixed with ordinary automotive oil to work it into a plastic explosive. The explosive is then simply stuffed into either a wine glass or the curved portion of a wine bottle that is cut about mid way from the bottom. A ordinary blasting cap goes into the center and it mounted over the target and spaced about 8-10 inches away. The hole it produces will range from 3 feet in solid steel to 18 feet in reinforced concrete. So, in effect, it will breech nearly any type of container.

Having said this, the dispersal of the radioactive waste would not be guaranteed from the explosion, a secondary explosion would be needed to blow apart the weakened container.

Regardless, it still is not a "good" weapon for terrorists to use. There are much nastier things they can and may do.

    Amazing,

The story from Fox News interviewed a former Special Forces soldier, which confirmed a story I had heard from a guy in SF who was personally involved in the tests. They had access, had they been enemies rather than friends it would have been ugly. Security is only as strong as it's weakest link. Then again, these guys are good. I once saw an exercise where a team of 10 SF guys lived INSIDE a secure area measuring less than 500 feet by 500 feet without detection from the guys that were looking for them. They were there for a week without detection.

Hi Yerusalem: Intersting stuff. I do find it hard to believe that people in a 500 x 500 SF area could excape detection with today's technology. USA military can detect people in deep in caves with certain scanning technology. While in the nuke business I did also work on some security issues, and as I noted above most of it is classified. But, I think it would be evry easy now to stop any terrorists from getting near a US nuclear plant. So, this is interesting to watch, and I hope to see more discussion. Thanks. - Amazing

Governments have to stop this panic spending on preventive measures to stop what "might" or "could" happen. The hype has gotten ridiculous and there are better and more effective and efficient ways of spending public money.

The war on terrorism and the war on drugs rank pretty low on my list of ways to spend public money. When people are losing their jobs and panic spending and media sensensationalism is driving the economy into the ground, the god damn war on terrorism is in itself a victory for terrorists.

Saint Satan, I think it would be interesting to examine the differences between the American media now and the role they played during World War II. How would icons Edward R Murrow, Robert Trout or the Writing 69th(Cronkite and Andy Rooney) carry out the deception? If in fact there is one. Who convinced the public then that Exe.order9066(internemnt of Japanese American citizens)was a good idea? Fear-the most powerful of motivating forces.

Mindchild, Thanks for your input about a secondary explosion being necessary to insure dispersal. Hopefully if this scenario were ever to play out the military escorts would be able to thwart any attempt.
