The GOPHER 3000 was a TARDIS, so it could go anywhere in the universe during that year! In fact, I suspect that it first went on a mission to plug the fountains of the deep at the bottom of the ocean (in "Noah and the Sea Devils"), then it went up to the upper atmosphere to close the windows of heaven that the Daleks had opened to exterminate life on earth (in "The Cataclysm of the Daleks"), then it flew off to Gallifrey to put a stop to timelord interference with Earth (in "The Trial of the Nephilim Timelords"), then they went off to the Andromeda Galaxy to witness a supernova (in "Noah and the Invasion of the Zoogs"), then they returned to earth to the Ararat region where Noah started releasing the animals, starting with the birds.
