No, never believed that. Evil has applied to few people in my life. And the ones I do think are evil, well there aren't very many, they really had to do some seriously mean, irresponsible, vindictive, cruel things to my children, grandchildren or me to get that title.

There was no way I could believe, for long, that every single person in the world outside the witless religion was vile, evil, and wicked. I have heard talks about worldly people being compared to pee, poison, and leaven from the platform (and somehow could not believe it as universally as they would like me to believe).

I did, however, feel contaminated whenever I went out in field circus. I would end up going to the ugliest men that anyone would ever imagine (and most were filthy and sloppy, too). I would usually be the one to place littera-trash with such men, and they wanted me to develop those s as calls. That was when I would see them as pee and poison, and I would want to not stay out in field circus. Of course, they made sure it would always be only men that I would ever see at the door (until, that is, I stopped going out).

I didn't believe my friends and relatives were evil, but I did believe that anyone who left the truth was evil. As a young teenager, I don't remember the word "apostate" -- I remember "Evil Slave." I found out that a couple who didn't live too far from us were "evil slave", and I almost shivered every time we drove past their house, though I never met them. Then the man was killed in a car accident and I thought good enough for him!

I tried from the time I was young, but it just didn't make much sense. I saw too many people in the "organization" who were liars, hypocrities and every other attribute that the WTS swore was not apart of their organization. At the same time, I met people who were decent, kind people who just didnt follow the Jehovah's Witness religion, so I couldn't understand why a God of love would be hung up on a title only and therefore I stopped being hung up on one.

One of the pioneers made a WT study comment one time, that impacted me. She said that all the non JW's are potential JW's, and we should treat them as such.

    Wise gal.
