Since I am about to partake (*smile*) in my favorite Sunday breakfast, I thought it would be fun for everyone to describe their favorite breakfast here.

Sunday breakfast was always a big deal for my family and growing up, it was the one day and time that we actually sat together had breakfast and talked about our week and sat for a good hour or so just catching up with each other.

For over 20 years, this breakfast consisted of bacon, sausage (Kielbasa or Italian), biscuits, eggs (cheese or plain), and grits. To this day, I still feel it's a special nice time.

Do share, I thought it would be fun to see other people's traditions on Sunday breakfast...

It's funny but those Sunday breakfasts are so bad for you overall, too much fat, butter, etc, but they tasted oh so good. Funny is that none of my family that ate this breakfast were overweight or anything, but we weren't allowed to eat fast food during the week - it was a rare treat if we did. Still these days things are substituted a bit because of the high fat content.

My favorite "spread" would consist of: eggs (alternated between scrambled "wet" or fried), bacon fried crispy, maple sausage patties, hash browns and/or white toast with seedless blackberry jam, or, if in a southern mood, biscuits and sausage cream gravy........all of this followed by blueberry pancakes or belgian waffles and fresh cut fruit...washed down with orange juice and plenty of black coffee with just a splash of half-n-half (no sugar, please).......hmmmmm.......sounds good, does'nt it?

I take my New York Times and Financial Times walk to the end of the block to the Nations Cafe around the corner of the UN and order two eggs, sausage, toast and hashbrowns. I make sure they keep the black coffee going for the next two hours and sit in amazement as to how wonderful life can be.

If you want to order something here is the menu:

Oh man you just had to start me up on this! This fat old cowboy loves PANCAKES! Along with some eggs over medium, bacon sausage, and hash browns or even better a french potato cake! OJ, Milk, Coffee.

Anyone remember John Wayne's breakfast in Brannigan?

A Short Stack, two over-easy and a half a dozen rashers!

If I go out, I do like NewYork44M - grab a paper, find my favorite neighborhood cafe, and order eggs, sausage, toast, hash browns and coffee.

If I'm at home, Greek Omelet with Fresh Fruit and coffee. (Eggs, little milk, fresh spinach, feta inside and then a litte more feta and saute'd sundried tomatoes on top) Yum!

My favorite breakfast is scrambled eggs with cream cheese melted in, sourdough toast, very brown, sliced tomatoes and bacon. Yummmmm. However, I don't eat like that any more - so today it was oat cereal with 2% milk and blueberries. Now having a nice cup of coffee.
