My daughter and I visited Washington state a few years back and ordered sweet tea in a resteruant. The waitress didn't know what sweet tea was and seemed kinda uppity about the whole thing. I suppose the only reason people live up north is becaue they have jobs there.

Fair Mind, I'm in Ohio and they don't have jobs here. Don't know about the rest of the "North," although Ohio is technically in the midwest.
I lived in North Carolina for years and was treated like dirt because I was from the "North." I loved the state itself, thought it was beautiful, but just couldn't stand the people. The men were so rude and crude. I'd cross the street and have guys roll their windows down and holler, "Hey, baby," and stuff like that was gonna get them a date with me? Also, I was amazed at the mold and mildew that grew on the outsides of houses down there. People had to pressure wash their houses at least once a year to get it off. And the flying roaches really grossed me out.
I don't like banana and mayonnaise sandwiches. I like sauerkraut on my hot dogs, not cole slaw. I like chicken in my chicken and pastry, not just pastry cooked in chicken broth and falsely called chicken and pastry. I will not eat fried "side meat." However, I have learned to love barbecue cooked in eastern N.C. style sauce, one of God's greatest gifts to man. I think Bill Ellis Farm and Barbecue Restaurant in Wilson, NC, is heaven on Earth, or as Bill Ellis likes to dub it: from the squeal to the meal. Yum.

I moved back to Louisiana after a long absence and was suprised when every resturant I go to here, when I order tea, they ask " sweet or unsweet". Huh? I'm used to sweetening my own tea. But the sweetned tea is delicious, but very very sweet.
