Freemasons...who are you?

    Hello all...

I saw in a different post there was a discussion about JW's being linked to Freemasons. One poster replied that they were a mason and they know for sure there's no link. That got me to thinking...I've never had any contact with an actual mason. I see the lodges around town. I've seen TV shows about them. Read things online. But I've never heard, from an actual Mason, what it's all about.

Are there any Masons on here that would care to share?

I worked with a guy whose Dad was a free mason. He said when he was younger he found some book he wasn't supposed too, but it wasn't like top secret or anything. He painted his Dad as just a normal individual. Also I think I had a great uncle who was a big freemason because my Mom was saying she had to march in a parade they threw. I had never heard my Mom tell that story before but she also painted him as just a normal guy. She is pretty up front about weirdo's and freaks even with in the JW's. So I mean I think the freemason stuff is way over blown personally.

I agree. I think it is overblown. I think because people don't know enough about it they blow things out of proportion. I am really interested in the honest truth about it. To me it's interesting. Coming from an environment that claims to be completely open yet has many skeletons in the closet, and hurtful ones, I'm curious about a community that seems to be able to stay out of the mass public eye.

I am not sure if it was my comments you were reading but I have never made it a secret here that I am a Mason.

Now some may disagree but I do consider myself fairly normal. I guess it depends on one's definition of normal.

I know there are a couple of others that post fairly often that are Masons. You'll find most Masons are just regular guys with an unusual interest in helping their community. The work done by the Shriners (must be a Mason to be a Shriner) is the most known. The charitable work done by each Lodge is lesser known. Our lodge supports a local abused women's shelter. No-one except the shelter director and financial officer knows of this financial support. The women are provided a Christmas dinner and presents for thei kids at the Lodge each year but to most that is all they receive from the local Masons. We also provide support to the widows of Masons. This is also done discreetly. There is more secrecy about our charitable acts than most of our ritual (it can all be found on the net).

I am pretty open about Masonry and my activities, so any questions you may have I am happy to address. I don't waste a lot of time with the conspiracy folks (no answer will ever be good enough) but I do understand those with a natural curiosity and do try to accommodate.

    Uzzah:

I very much like the help provided to battered women, that is fantastic! Well I guess my basic question is...what is a Mason? I.e. is it basically an elite and very old social club with a simple purpose of improving the community, or is there some other type of purpose or goal?

I was to a Free Mason meeting for a friend who made some sort of rank, he became a local leader. There meetings are more boring than the kingdumb hall if thats possible.

According to David Icke The JW's and Masons are all part of the New World order both organizations spread the confusion and try to keep everyone in darkness. According to Icke the low level Witnesses and low level masons are clueless to the workings of their organizations. Even the masons with the magic underware and secret handshakes are in the dark.

But if you want to take the high road both the witnesses and masons will tell you they do good for the world.

Check out "Children of the Matrix" by David Icke for his slant on the Witness and Mason link.

When its all said and done there is nothing anyone can do about it. Both organizations appear to be energy vampires burning the lives of their adherents.

Uh......OK. People like to be part of special organizations, that's the bottom line. I think with both the Masons and JW's there is no grand conspiracy to take over the world and in fact both are totally different outside of doing things people on the outside have little knowledge of. Oh and Jaguar basses suck, seriously. Mass produced pieces of crap, give me an old school P-Bass any day.
