before they make leaving impossible and force everyone into stagnation traps that will make the 1990s look like fun and games.
What happened in the 90s?
*** w94 4/1 p. 16 par. 8 Are You Resisting the Spirit of the World? ***Yet, each year about 40,000 individuals are disfellowshipped from Jehovah’s organization.
*** w89 4/1 p. 13 par. 12 Hear What the Spirit Says to the Congregations ***Has Satan tried to introduce a Balaam or a Jezebel influence into the Christian congregation today? He certainly has, to the extent that almost 40,000 a year are disfellowshipped, most because of immorality.
*** w89 12/1 p. 17 par. 10 Do You Seek Hidden Treasures? ***Yet, with over 41,000 disfellowshipped last year, it is clear that many brothers and sisters have neglected their spirituality.
*** w87 7/15 p. 15 par. 4 Prayers Require Works ***Of the more than 3,000,000 publishers of the good news last year, upwards of 37,000 were disfellowshipped for conduct unbecoming a Christian. That amounts to a ratio of about one in 80.
I think they just make up the number of 40,000. That's the number they were throwing around when I first started going to meetings in 1983, and they were still using the same number when I left in 2003, 20 years later.
I think all the statistics they publish to their membership are fabrications.

They are proven liars and deceivers, tellers of half-truths, and less than honest about so many things, it would not surprise me in the least.
I am convinced that if they believe they can get away with a lie, they will tell it.
Their warped sense of what they feel is the "greater good", combined with the perceived power they feel as God's annointed, give them license to do anything that will further their cause - including deception.
It sickens me.
The Oracle
I lived in a little Tennessee town back through the 80's... we averaged about 80 on Sundays. Doing some mental math on those who passed through... and dropped out or just faded away.... if they all stayed that little town would have at least...(carry the seven...hmmmm) about 300 folks. I dont thing they have DF'ed 5 people since I first got there in '71. One of those DF's is cronic... he cant keep his zipper closed and he gets Df and back in about every 3 years or so. That town's KH is still holding around 80 or so... most are kids or in-laws to the core group I knew 25 years ago.
For what I hear..the few locals who studied ... about 6 i know of...all quit after a few years.
For the 40 K they claim get DF'ed... the walkaways ... that they dont count... hurt them much more.
