I asked this in another thread but got no answer so I'm gonna ask it here also:

If you have a lawsuit against another JW, can you have extra priviledges like being an elder, pioneer, etc?

We had a guy who needed to sue another JW over some contracts... The BOE told him he would be stripped of priveleges...and DF if he pursued the case and won.

The other guy had clearly broken the contracts (a possibly some criminal laws)...

What if you have a restaining order against a someone? What if it was a federal case?

Are you serious? What if you can't go to the person because you have a restraining order against the person? I mean, where is the cut-off that says its ok to have a case against somebody? If they murder your friend? If they rape you? Would that be ok to have a case like that and still have a position?

I never saw a case like that per se... but I bet a dollar the BOE would make things rough if one sought a PPO against a fellow member. Remember ...these are guys who figure your getting laid if your car spends the night a freinds house.

I saw that once... car was loaned to a sister (single) and the local wags figured the owner was doin' the horizontal bop with her.......
