    1. How can your mate cheat on an animal? Does he go out and buy a new pet or something? (Lame, I know.)

    2. What's the rape rule now? It used to be that, if you didn't scream while you were being raped, you were guilty of fornication.

    3. Also, what's the voting rule now? I remember a JW telling me with glee in the mid 90's, "We can vote now! Uh, not that I would, but...." Where's that almighty neutrality stand now?

    4. An old rule was that the UN was bad. Apparently, if you're an NGO, the UN is good.

    5. They used to teach that emotions came from the heart, not the brain, so having a heart transplant was a big no-no. They also said any kind of organ transplant was cannibalism.

    1. I don't know. I heard about that those... Its gross...

    2. They have lightenned up on that. You won't get d'f if you don't scream... But, they will find out what happened to make sure you didn't do anything wrong...

    3. I don't know about the voting rule...

    4. What's NGO stand for?

    5. You couldn't have a brain transplant??? lol, I didn't know about that one...

Robert7: An extension to #1 - You are not scriptually divorced even if the male has anal sex with another female. For a while, the rule was -only- vaginal sex with a woman as grounds for divorce.

Dang are you sure about this Robert? Boy, those where the days I guess....How come I never heard about this? That sure opens the trunk for all kinds of legal pornea...............................................oompa

There were rules against playing chess, owning wind chimes, and wearing jade jewelry ( www.watchthetower.com ). Aluminum was viewed as Satan's metal. And, if you were in Malawi, you could not get a party card without getting disfellowshipped (see Crisis of Conscience). They allowed Mexicans to bribe the officials to give them a certificate of military service, however.

In the early 70's my husband was removed from the pioneer list for wearing 'flared' pants. He then 'repented' got back on the list and later wore a bow tie for a #4 talk. All HELL broke loose and he was booted again. The horrid thing is, we knew these were ridiculous rules yet we continued to obey. I won't even bring up 'colored' shirts, that's a whole other story.

    Nuckin Futs, all of em'

A JW whose car was spotted parked overnight at the home of another JW of the opposite gender to whom they were not married could be disfellowshipped, as this was considered sufficient proof that fornication had taken place.
