One word: money.
They can cheapen everything and fake stats and lie thru their teeth. But one successful Catholic-level lawsuit and they're done.
Even without that, wallets are closing....

Time and education.
However, it will be a very long time. IMHO it will take two or three more generations of people. What the heck, why not put a year on it - what have I got to lose?
2062 will mark the end of the WT religion.
I hope to live to see it. And by the power of the internet and the everlasting life of this JWD forum, this prophecy will stand the test of time - right or wrong.

The demise of a mind controlling cult will come as other had stated, from education, but also from the evolution of the human mind.
Our generation (I'm 48) is probably the last generation that holds the past in high regard and esteem. My son who is 25 questions everything.. typical of his generation for whom the past is just that: the Past. And if you examine even younger minds you will see they simply do not take any bs from no one. They question everything, they cannot relate to the primitive societies that gave birth to the ideas that hold do many minds captive. Try selling the tooth fairy idea to a modern 4 year old... good luck!
I remember a song by The 5th Dimension : "This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius..." according to estoterical views, Aquarius the man with the vase that never ceases to spill water signifies the downpour of information that we have since the beginning of that era in the 1920/1930.... Information and the knowledge that comes from it will be the demise of all structural beliefs system founded on basically the word of other humans. No more mind control.
But I will take some time...

I think the WT will reinvent itself under the guidance of the legal department. I see a smaller core of hard and fast rank n'filers guided by another spiritual guru (who is a puppet of the legal staff)
It's sorta heading that way now... I see a big purge and breakdown. Information age aside... there are those that can be WON over regardless of whatever facts are on the table.
Rutherford did it all by his lonesome before. Can you imagine how effective the home grown WT lawyers will do this time around?

It'll never completely end... they'll always be idiots that'll believe anything. They'll make the generation last forever by saying the anointed keep growing.. but one day their influence, as far as their ability to win a lot of new converts will end... they'll be like the snake handlers in the South are, they'll always be around but on the fringes.
