75% of JWs couldn't tell you what the theme of the Public Talk was 5 minutes after the Watchtower study.
OMG there is soooo much truth to that... I remember one time I was on the phone with a friend that had missed to CO Visit talk, I said "oh you missed a great talk!" she "what was it about?" - I COULD NOT REMEMBER A THING ABOUT IT!! Not the theme not one word! I didnt even remember that I wasnt listening! LOL
2) Given the anonymity of answering questions over the phone, perhaps a reasonably large number figured "hey the elders will never find out how I personally answer these questions
I never thought about the fact that it is likely only less than zealous JW's would really answer this poll, or at least a higher volume of less active to zealous. Could Warlock be right about the stats not accurately representing the whole?? Hmmmmmmmmm??????

Dang it I hate stupidity like that! And that was my all time and only favorite stat about us...we men had it so much easier to pick....and now my typo did not even set my gaydar off.......................odd......................oompa

Billz: What struck me was that 6% of them are college graduates, while 16% of Catholics are college grads.. That's like 250% more... JW dumb-asses...
I am actually way off base on my thinking here. It is shocking to me that only 6 or 16% of ANY faith has been to college...or graduated. That is dang low....IMO......oompa

Siro, I did not get a chance to really check out the survey due to travel today, but you picked a good nugget here. I have a feeling this was not the case 20-30 years ago. We are not better that is for sure.................oompa

With such a low retention rate of JWs, coupled with their treatment of former JWs(for whatever reason), it is no wonder that they have such low incomes and high divorce rate. Divorce is devastating to families financially, and JWs really like to screw it to the 'apostate' who 'causes' all the problems by leaving. . .the organization! Which is what causes the divorce, as the JW is not inclined oft times to fight for the marriage.
The study revealed one thing: JWs are no better and for the most part worse in every way of measuring religion: unstable families, low achievement/income/education and spiritual satisfaction.
Who WOULDN'T want that for their children.
Maybe this can be used in custody cases somehow.
