I'm here on JWD because of the Watchtower's practice of disfellowshipping. That's is one pratice that really made me question if I really wanted to continue as a member. I always thought that by kicking the disfellowshipped or disassociated out of the Kingdom Hall was enough. Taking away privilages was good enough for me.

Not talking to someone, eating with them, and having no association with them was too much of a punishment and not Christ like. I will never agree with this practice.

What WTS belief, doctrine,or practice are you mostly disappointed in?

The practices are at the top of my list.

I hate that they protect the organization ahead of children.
I hate that they protect the reputation of the organization ahead of actual help for the members.
I hate that grandparents and parents are told to shun the son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter.
I abhor how they asked for volunteers at Bethel, gave them the idea that they could stay there all
their life, and had them give up saving for the future and advancing in the work world, then
    kicking them out.
I hate that they encourage young ones to forget about college, and consider selling magazines
for free parttime and slaving to make ends meet parttime.

Disappointed isn't the word! I have been totally disallusioned by the WT for almost every reason. To discover that it is a cult and all a lie has shattered me and turned my belief system upside down. Then to find that I am not allowed to "not believe"it and leave, without being shunned and classed as an evil apostate is devastating to say the least.

That they teach they are the sole organization of God.

This tears at the foundation of the new covenant. It say in effect that no one will have to look to another person for spiritual guidance, that God will have a personal relationship with all of us.

By the WT teaching that they are the only way a person can know God goes into direct conflict with this and tears away a relationship from God and creates a horrid relationship with the WTBTS.

I suppose that the legal dept now runs the organization. It's sad because now that the lawyers are involved, it's pretty much over.

The fact that they can't stand by their own rule of checking out all the other religions. They don't want you delving into their history.

Some people "fall out" because of people. They are stumbled by local elders or others treating them badly and they are disappointed over a "lack of love" ...

Me ? I was always able to accept that people would let you down. I had seen too much of it to be shocked anymore after 24 years as an elder. But it was the printed page that mattered . The doctrines were sound,(I thought) so God uses "Earthen vessels" to accomplish his work...

    But when I woke up and realised that ;

a] Their chronology was rubbish and, b] Armageddon was another word for Global genocide and an immoral concept , then I looked a bit harder and found that , they misquote people in their books, they had been an NGO of the U.N at the same time proclaiming to be a "wild beast"and lots of other stuff...My life's work and faith just fell apart like an old string vest unravelling

All the attention to keeping me away from the opposite sex just about sealed their fate with me: They had to go.

I also felt it spurious that people had to spend so many hours a month in field circus. Those "Pioneer Or Die" campaigns were totally out of line with what I was taught in the Bible, plus they told us that it had to be voluntary (which is impossible once you get hounded into it once). Thus, I viewed it as a total waste of my time to pioneer because, once I get hounded, it would no longer be voluntary.

The double donation arrangement. You donate for a piece of littera-trash when you pick it up. Then you put the money received in the field into the box for that piece, and more for any new littera-trash. You are effectively paying for the same piece of littera-trash twice, and it was blatant. Then they told us that it wasn't double donating--a blatant lie.

And, that extra money goes to protect pedophiles. If I could go into a time warp, I would rather give the money as a tip at Starbucks instead of putting it into the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund. The Watchtower Society would call it theft, but after donating for it once, I believe that the littera-trash is paid for. As for what the householder would think of that, I wonder what they would think if the money was used to protect pedophiles.
