someone stated that Jesus married and had a family. If this has any merit or truth to it then who where is children and Iam sure that Jesus would have taught his children about the kingdom. His children in turn would have followed in thier fathers footsteps and would have continued his message. Hmmm????

Do you feel that Jesus can fufil His purpose in your life?
I'm not in jail, I'm not blind and my suffering is bearable, so what should I feel?

In the sense that Jesus was just a man that tried to liberate man's thinking from the bicameral mode, yes it is possible. In fact, he lambasted those who tried to force man back into that mode, whether by condemning them to being peasants and stopping them from being educated or by forcing them to obey rules that were not actually in place.
We benefit from Jesus' true teaching when we take an objective look at Jesus' message. It was one of liberation. He told people to integrate their thinking, to test their faith and continually find common denominators. If we do that, we will profit from his teaching. If, however, we let the religious leaders think for us (or let other posters actually do the thinking without looking up cross references and what all the people have to say about a subject), then we lose some of this. In extreme cases, such as with the Watchtower Society, we will follow a blatantly wrong and detrimental course that will further stifle freedom of thinking.
I believe that every source you can find about something that interests us can be of benefit. But, if we do not integrate these things with real life, or we allow someone else (especially someone with malicious intent) do our thinking, then we miss out on the chance to learn the real truth. That's why even to this date I still look out for new apostate web sites--I could find another puzzle piece that could be the one that could get someone else to look at religion in a whole new light and decide to break on their own.

He probably could fulfil my life, but I put my faith in the Super Best Friends:

IMHO Jesus was, at most, a guy who saw injustice and corruption in the religion of his own culture, and attempted to institute some reforms. Some conservatives didn't want the status quo to be changed, so accused him of sedition, and he was executed. End of story. He didn't die for anyones sins, he simply died. Some of his ideas were picked up and expanded by those who lived decades later, and formed into a new religion.

This thread needs a good hijacking. Do any of you Doobie fans know who originally recorded "Jesus is just alright"?
