god I feel for you people.... it's been record cold and snowfall here in Wisconsin this season too. Sorry people in Ohio, but I'm glad that last one missed us.

Satanis, snow is beautiful. Snow is also a pain in the a$$. When you get your car caught in it or have to shovel it, it's a pain in the azzzzzz. And my neighbors on the front of the building can't see out of their windows due to the piled up plowed snow.
No snow where I am. He, he. he. Wore shorts yesterday. He, he, he. Put fertilizer on my palm trees. He, he, he. Skeeter
Yeah, but summers up here are nice. They usually have temps around 80. A heatwave is 85-90. I like being able to enjoy the outdoors in the summer. But yes, the snow is horrible this year.

Other people shovel the snow in front of the building where i live. I don't get stuck in snow. I learned how to drive in it, when i was a kid. I got stuck a lot, then.

Beautiful to just look at it all today, but horrid to shovel it all. Nearly half a meter of accumulation in some parts here.
What stunk was having to commute in that weather yesterday. Either that or risk getting written up for not going to work. If we showed up late they wouldn't count it against us (isn't that so generous of them?), but if we didn't go at all it was a culpable absence. Yeah like call center tech support is such a critical vital service that couldn't be closed for a day.

I hope at least the boasting session got cancelled for snow.

Additionally, I bet that makes it difficult for people to park while out in field circus.

Sunspot
Just across the lake from Ontario.....we are located in the snow belt of upstate NY....
We have had several small ice storms ever since last Friday. Our windows were like frosted glass and we lost power and phone service all day yesterday. We have had high winds all weekend...gust up to 50 MPH, according to the TV forecaster for this area. The sun is out today but ice still coats every twig and branch around. It looks pretty with all the glistening ice. A cardinal just landed in our peach tree....what a contrast with all the white snow!
We have a stand of Siberian Elms that are parallel to the road....and we woke up to see that the main branch on the trunk of the first tree, had fallen during the night and taken another huge branch with it. It just MISSED the new porch we had put on last year!
The plows go by every ten minutes (main road through upstate NY) and pile mounds of snow wherever hubby had shoveled. Our mailbox is on it's second replacement because the plows smashed it....and the newspaper tube was knocked down the first week they put it up. Now they leave it in a bright red plastic bag and toss it in a snowbank on the way by!
I am afraid to look and see what else is buried under the snow when it does melt :o)
They are delivering seed catalogues and I am just finishing up knitting a pair of legwarmers. Both of my old pairs have bitten the dust and I obviously still need these with these windy days in this old drafty farmhouse.
We DID have a robin land here yesterday....unfortunately, he forgot to pack his boots.
hugs and WARM thoughts,
Annie
