I am so sorry that you are going through this situation. Please get the counseling that both of you need. It will help you to see that this is really no ones fault except the perpetrator. May your wife and you heal quickly from this horrible situation.

Please don't blame yourself. If the car needed repairs, it could have broken down with her and something bad would have happened them too. It's great she has a supportive man to help her through this.
Might I add, your wife must be quite the scrapper if was to tired to run from the police.

Wow...So sorry to hear about that! I'm glad your wife was able to fight him off! That's why I believe in arming yourself in order to protect yourself. I know you are not going to let her out of your sight for a while, but you may want to consider her carrying some kind of mace or pepper spray or even getting a concealed weapon permit & carrying a small handgun.
I hope the counseling helps both of you to get through this!

That is just a horrible nightmare for you and your poor wife. I feel so bad for you both, just can't imagine having something like that happen but I do know I would be horrified if it happened to me or one of my daughters.
Don't feel guilty, it certainly was not something that you could have done anything about. Time and circumstances unfortunately happens sometimes..
I hope they lock that person up for a long time

how did he get a bail amount of $2 million? Wow - my husband attempted to murder a police officer and his bail is only $100,000.00. That's neither here nor there, anyway. I am so sorry this happened to your wife - so frightening. It happened because that guy is a criminal, a violent horrible selfish dangerous person, not because of anything you did. But it's kind of human nature to think of all the things we might have done to prevent something from happening. Stay close and cherish each other - you'll recover. I'd give you both a hug and a kiss if you were nearby!

It's only natural for you to feel guilty. I think husbands are programmed to feel like the protectors of their wives. Although I'm a woman and thus not a husband, I am a mother. Once my son was seriously injured when he was at daycare and I felt so guilty that I was at work and not a stay-at-home mom. I thought that, if he hadn't been at daycare he wouldn't have been hurt, and I felt guilty for being a working mom. I had to work at that time and it was illogical to feel guilty, but I did. Just like you feel guilty. Everyone has to have maintenance done to their car, just like many mothers have to work. Forgive yourself and hold your wife close.
I've said a prayer for you and will continue to do so.
