French NGO officials jet in
to help Congo DR refugees

TWO officials from the Aid Afrique are expected in the country today to provide additional humanitarian support to thousands refugees who have fled trouble-torn Congo DR.

Aid Afrique chairman Mr Claude Hamel and Mr Louis De Wit from France and Belgium respectively are expected to hold talks with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Ministry of Health and other humanitarian organisations to see what assistance could be given to refugees.

A statement to the Mail yesterday said the two officials would be in the country for a week-long visit during which they would be assisted by two Aid Afrique local representatives, Mr Edward Finch and Mr Estime Mbayo.

"Over US$30,000 is expected to be spent in providing blankets, clothes, food, household utensils, farming tools and implements as well as medicines to the refugees from Congo," read the statement.

The relief supplies are being provided by congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses in Belgium, France and Switzerland. Aid Afrique is a European-based international humanitarian organisation founded in France in 1990 with the objective of bringing relief to critical areas of Africa.

Through the UNHCR efforts in Tanzania, the organisation last year distributed over 20 tonnes of food and medicine to refugees in the Kigoma region.

In 1997, Aid Afrique spent US$820,000 in humanitarian aid to the former Zaire.

Letter sent to all Congregation of France, September 26th 1999.

" To all congregations of France,

Dear brothers,

According to The Kingdow Ministry (August, 1997 page 4), " reports indicate that there is only Kingdow Hall in a country which counts 568 congregations. In another country, one report indicate one of for 129 congregations. Somewhere else, proportion is of on Hall for 41 congregations. In several other countries which count on the whole more than 1 000 congregations, it was not possible to build even only on Kingdow Hall, because of economic difficulties ". How is it today ?

It is possible for the brothers of France to express their solidarity with their brothers and sisters, in the need, by bringing them a material and spiritual help as in the urgent situations as in the other occasions.

The Aidafrique association can so bring food, medical and material help to the populations of Africa within the framework of an urgent situation and also to support our companions the most deprived within the framework of our work of education on this continent.

Indeed, our work of biblical education is often considered, rightly , as being of public utility by numerous authorities in Africa.

We fight against the illiteracy and, furthermore, the goods of AWake ! Contain many subjects dedicated to the improvement of the quality of the life or the hygiene, where exist extreme conditions of poverty. Considering this support on behalf of African authorities in certain countries, this association will so be able to support several activities connected to the work of the Kingdow.

HOW TO SUPPORT THE AIDAFRIQUE ASSOCIATION ?

Every member of the congregation will be able to make on regularly basis an offering for this association. From a practical point of view, an envelope will be able to be slid in a special envelope carrying the name " AIDAFRIQUE " which will be placed near boxes of offerings of the Kingdow Hall or in the study’s home. At the moment, these envelopes are not placed because we have not yet received them, nevertheless, there is a special box near boxes of offerings where there is a label which indicates the AIDAFRIQUE association. Those that wish it will so be able to put their offerings in this box with offerings and the brothers charged of the accounts will take the contents of envelopes as well as the contents of this box on the account of the AIDAFRIQUE association.

However, it will be also possible directly to send this envelope to the AIDAFRIQUE association. Very soon, we are going to receive these envelopes with the name of the association, it will be enough to put a check inside. Only checks will be able to be sent so by the post office.

AIDAFRIQUE arranges also an account POST OFFICE ACCOUNT number of which is given to the public. Each can so freely proceed to a transfer or make a deposit in the post office according to the modalities of its choice.

The complete reference of the account is given. Only with the number which has to just been given to you, it is sufficient. This letter will be shown in the table, so, you will be able to resume the complete reference of the account . This letter will be shown in the Kingdow Hall during several weeks, in the need and in future, one will be able to communicate you this number.

We received numerous letters of companions' recognition wishing to support work in Africa. This new disposal corresponds to that described by the apostle Paul in Corinth relative to the same willingness as we can demonstrate to help our companions so that an equalization compensates at the moment.

We ask Jehovah to support this disposal and we thank you in advance for your help. We seize this occasion to assure you of all our brotherly love. "

This letter is scandalous because Aidafrique show to the worldky authorities that it provide humanitarian's help but the real issue of this association seems to be the "Kingdow's work".

im so tired of it all...im shattered and dying inside of despair and pain.

please expose the ones in New York and you know who they are...Not all are bad-just the ones who have taken what is not rightfully theres to take.

please make them pay for the pain they have caused so many, the shattered lives, the mental anguish that we have had to deal with.

Is the AidAfrique organization sponsored by any of the Society's corporations or was it established by witnesses on the "outside" who were looking to supply aid to witnesses in Africa?

In fact at the beginning it was created by JW from the "outside" but after it has became an official Watchtower's association, except Hamel, the president, all the leaders of the first association were removed, and replaced by bethelites of Louvier (France) and Belgium.

Howdy lookin,

There is such an enormous amount of information on the web about the WTBTS - and it's verifiable. When a quote is given - it's also documented where it was taken from, so you can look it up yourself. If not? You have the right to question, doubt, whatever you want, with no repercussions.

Don't jump to fast to believe anyone. Just give yourself time to digest what we all found out.......we were duped. I was a jw sister for 30 years (all as an adult). My husband - his entire life. We're still in "good standing."

There are so many good sites to find information, discussions, etc., on the WTBTS. Freeminds, Watchtower Observer, Research on the Tower, Shaun's Place, - just to name a few of the dozens.

Take your time, seems we're not going to see "The End" anytime soon.
Take care & stick around. Don't jump from one religious belief to another - just give yourself time to digest the realities of the world, which we are a part.
