DD stop bloody nitpicking - it just makes you look silly

    I guess you think Hell's a nit?

My guess is, we have a very different understanding of "mainstream". You can call me silly if you like, but, I won't be recommending "The Plain Truth" to anyone I care about!

Tell me, do you know if The plain Truth has ever denounced Herby as a false Prophet? As far as I know they haven't.

It depends on how you term 'denounced' but as far as I'm concerned yes, they have - they've made a full and public confession that they were wrong/misled, rejected previous heretical teachings and accepted the tenets of the creed. They are now members of the Evangelical Alliance over here, that's good enough for me.

    Check out the WCG history:

    http://www.wcg.org/lit/AboutUs/history.htm

Even there, they admit that Armstrong was wrong, not denying that he is part of their history. It happened, they've been delivered, alleluia!!

I saw words like mistake, error and the like, but nothing that looked like Herbert W. Armstong was a False Prophet.

Edited to add: That would be the "Plain Truth" would it not?

Plain Truth is the magazine published by the WCG

I saw words like mistake, error and the like, but nothing that looked like Herbert W. Armstong was a False Prophet .

Like I said - depends on how you use the term 'denounced'

I know you think I'm nit picking, but I have friends and family that are still messed up by that fool. They keep apologizing to us, but their leadership should be apologizing to the people that they've messed up. One member of my family (a close cousin) died during his leadership. Apologies aren't going to help him. That's the problem with nut cases like this, some things can't be fixed. Stating plainly that Herbert W Armstrong is a false prophet would be the least they could do.

I come from a 'mixed' family.

    Some are JW's.

Some are members of the original WWCoG, the ones that kept Armstrong's doctrines intact and have split into different groups with those doctrines.

The remainder are members of the 'New' WWCog, they accept the Trinity but retain the seventh-day sabbath.

Now you know why I was so messed up as a kid.
