That is a tricky question for me. because many of my prayers have been answered ,But the ones I REALLY wanted answered were...>. but not in the way I wanted them to be.
For instance I prayed when they told me my son was to have his leg removed the next week. I prayed that would not happen...Well he died with a heart attack the next day...? Then when Melanie had cancer ( Hodgkins) when she was 19 yrs old I prayed it would be healed. It seems it was, after radiation, but then when she was 39 Cancer returned,.?
Then all over the world we were praying for her to be healed.. But she died!!!! So was my prayer answered.? I dont really know! You see she left three kids whom today are 21( twins) & 24...& they have LOTS of problems!!! Would Melanie have been able to take it?? I doubt it !as she thought her kids were perfect.. So I really dont understand Gods way of working. But I still believe HE is in control.

Right on!!! We are god and he is created in our image, so we answer our own prayers, we make it happen, cant blame god now, can we?

"God helps those who help themselves" {famous christian saying}.....so then why do I need him. If I pray for food and I don't get a job to pay for it God won't help...basically I need to help myself so I am my own God. Like in the bible where it says you make an idol with a peice of wood which is a lifeless object.

I have found the most reliable way to make sure I do not get something of value to me, and that is to pray to Jehovah for it.

""God helps those who help themselves" {famous christian saying}" - however, nothing Christian whatsoever about this saying. In fact it is not even in the Bible. What IS in the Bible - Galatians 3:3 - "Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?"

As a JW, I don't remember prayer being an integral part of worship or life. In fact, we were taught that God does not listen to most prayers - long list of what He listens to, who He does not listen to.... As a Christian, prayer has become integral and God answers those prayers. In fact, another thing JWs missed was that God speaks to us. Yes, He talks back!!!! We just have to listen. When, as a JW, did you spend time LISTENING to God?

Or do you remember that you should not pray out loud because the Devil would hear you, but God can read your mind?

Viewing humanity in general, so many very needy and humble people who desperately need answers to their prayers receive none. Meanwhile, some evil people who claim to represent their favorite God get ahead in this world, and so it would seem their prayers are undeservedly answered.

People who pray often focus more on the issue or problem at hand, giving it greater clarity, and then sometimes things turn out and they notice things got better or things went well. These kinds of 'answers' can also come to non-praying people who focus on an issue, concentrate on it, and gain greater awareness until something becomes resolved.

God helps those who help themselves" {famous christian saying}....." {famous christian saying}.....

It is not a Christian saying. Some one asked me where it was in the bible a few days ago. You might find it interesting if you Google it ...I learned something when I did

God helps those who help themselves" ....

Right before I left the Borg, I prayed and prayed to Jehovah that I my dad would not die. I was 20yrs old and my little brother was only 12. Of course the magic man in the sky did nothing to reverse the cancer that was eating my fathers body. I have not prayed to "god" since my dad died and that was 10 years ago. I have found peace through meditation and now stay focused on solving my own problems. I no longer ask "god" for help, either he is not there or he just does not care. Either way, taking things into my own hands has worked out a lot better for me than waiting on Jehovah to fix my problems.

claytoncapeletti((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))) I guess that is how my grand-kids feel after their Mum died, except they got in to "stuff" one got on drugs,( did a jail sentence) one has had three live-ins- one came out of the closet!!!Not that I think that is a result of the death. But they gave up on a Helper, they think they are doing as you are. Thinking for your self. A good thing as long as it doesnt lead you away from showing LOVE to all you ever meet.
Now to the Gays on board ...LISTEN!!!!! I am not saying I think your all wrong!!!!! I am just saying I think the Mother would have found it hard for her to know. Me!!?? Since I am out of the WT .I leave everyone up to MY GOD!!!!! I dont judge anyone .... I have a lot on my own to stand before the Great White throne
    No rocks please
