    When I took ecstasy.

Hee hee. I can relate...... ....but seriously, the first time I landed a 20lb native steelhead on a fly rod...I have never felt so fulfilled & elated. Now, church consists of me taking my drift boat down one of our local rivers in pursuit of salmon or steelhead most every Sunday. I get a much better feeling from a day on the river than I EVER did coming out of a Kingdom Hall.

Well Casper, I was born in. My weeks from as early as I can remember, were meeting nights, and the nights daddy got drunk and beat the hell out of mom. Then mom saying "we don't tell anyone about our business, do we?" like every day. Oh, and about once a month dad would come in and say how sorry he was, and how it was never going to happen again. Feeling like Jehovah was on my shoulder, watching everything I did, and I never did do enough. But the only thing I ever remember asking him for, was to save my dog when he got hit by a car. He didn't.

Funny really how we care and love these little creatures...they are so apart of our lives and we shed tears at their passing BUT THE GOD OF LOVE is preparing to DESTROY 6 billion HUMANS to uphold his sovernity...YEA I've had enough of this GOD business...

I can relate also. My "church" is nature, when I'm scuba diving or free diving to 80 feet, when I'm sleeping in the wilderness and I hear wolfs and howls, when I spend the night besides the St-Lawrence and I hear the wales sing, now that for me is "god".

    Low-Key...............Amen to that...

    Beksbks....

I am so sorry you had to experience such... I know how it is to live in an abusive home... Hopefully you are free now...

I can't image what it must be like to deal with all that "WITH" a faith in god, as a child. I realize he didn't do anything to help you, and I hate that. But, I didn't have anything... just talking to the wind...it would have been nice to at least have felt there was a higher power out there.

Damn, and lost your dog too...

And why not do we need to pretend to pray to some unseen diety worship some mythical being to be AWARE of our wonderful existence...we are wonderfully made it does not necessary mean we came from a diety...look up at the night sky the millions of stars the billions of galaxies we are sentient hear and now we may be the only sentient beings in our universe time line yes we are wonderfully made....

Zeroday, I can totally agree with that. "Now" at this stage of my life.... but at as a child, I was desperate for something.

I am happy for you, you sound as tho you have found peace..

Honestly, for the most part, all that part of my life is like some movie I watched. I'm so far from it all now, it's like it wasn't real. And I agree, the nature and the good things in this world (there are lots!) have more of an impact on my day than all that crap. I love to argue politics with Zero too you know that's fun! I don't believe in god, and I don't miss the idea of one. I've never known a good one. Only one who was going to destroy the kids across the street!!!

Just today, I was looking out the window at work, and I had to call someone over to see how pretty the scene was. Everything is beginning to leaf out, and bloom. It's beautiful. I think I will take a pic when I go into work next.
