Eden was supposedly destroyed in the Flood, therefore the sword was no longer necessary. Jehovah deactivated/retrieved it. Or perhaps the water shorted it out, and it's an artifact buried in sediment somewhere...perhaps beneath the ruins of the Ark : )

At Raymond James stadium, in Tampa where the Buccaneers play there is a pirate ship. They say the sword is in the treasure chest in the pirate ship. But they always have armed Guards there, so no one can get to it to find out if its real sword from the Garden of Eden or not.

This just made me realise that if it were true ... it means God invented the first weapon.
What would you think if the scripture read "and a flaming gun guarded the way back into Eden", or "a nuclear warhead guarded the way back into Eden"?

It would have been a stone sword since metal refining had not been developed then.
