I have been disfellowshiped, which I have mentioned before here, I was just wondering if it makes any difference if I disassociated myself now, I mean officially, with a letter, or does it make any difference? Would it also be announced, like the df'ing?

It's all the same now. By DA'g, you just beat them to the punch.
It's like firing vs quitting. Once you are fired, you really can't quit.
No announcement would be made.

It is a wearisome subject, trying to trick and get around the Watchtower Organization.
"How can I fade and still keep my privileges?"
"I am dfd but I want to sit where I want to in the KH when I attend"
"I am applying for reinstatement but the elders wont make time to talk with me!"
"Im on this board regularly AND THEY JUST INVITED ME TO BE AN ELDER----HOLY SPIRIT MY ASS!"
My observation is that when you DA or get dfd you lose all your personal rights and privileges
in the Watchtower Organization. End of subject.
The elders no longer view you as a priority nor responsibility.
Holy Spirit or no holy spirit, eventually dual citizenship in The Watchtower Org and apostate websites will become known and you will have to make a choice.
You must continue to care what the Watchtower Organization thinks and remain imprisoned by that choice or stop caring and go out and live your life. -

The whole privileges thing is bunk. I mean, shouldn't one be able to because he or she wants to do something, not because they are "allowed" do. At my church (the guys and girls) are able to light the candles, it is not a privilege that belongs to just any one group of people. Why doesn't the WTS allow this too with their "privileges" and allow anyone who wants to. Just have people take turns each week.

It's amazing how the Holy Spirit works so well in Christendom's churches while the spirit (it ain't Holy Spirit cuz it's just electrical energy) in Jehovah's visible organization requires a person to be 'qualified' before they can do anything in the congregation. It's all about appearances with the JW cult.

Is anyone EVER a priority or responsibility in the washtowel's eyes?

How can they show who's important or, more accurately, who's 'daddy' is important unless they hold back the best privileges from the general congregation?

Its like walking the plank.
You get to the end of it.
Jump or be pushed.
Simple as that.
I think for the old timers though, DA'ing is more frowned upon.
