It crept up on me, and took me by surprise!

    Life!

I have begun to live it - instead of waiting on the 'real life' we had been promised as JW's.

It started 4 years ago - but it moved slowly past the weeks and months of 'research', trying to find where I fit, then into an understanding that I didn't - at least not conventionally, fit anywhere, religiously speaking. Suddenly I find myself happy to just LIVE without the constant constraint of labels.

It is tough to get born at 50. But is better than being aborted at death, having never lived.

Testify brother...same here I left at age 50 after 28 years in...but for me it was dropping that whole God thing that liberated me....

I find myself with much different attitudes toward common things now than I did while I was a witless. I was recruited, and yet I was amazed at how quickly Christmas and other normal things took on a stench that was all on phony grounds. And I had a dread of the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger putting out a piece of littera-trash that made fornication even worse or a new obstacle against what I wanted.

Now, I just shred the littera-trash I do get. If something particularly pointed at ruining my chance at fulfillment comes along, I now just write another article and throw it back in their faces. All with my Christmas decorations in plain view, on the site that they are most demonized, with a Ouija board in the apartment in quick reach, and Crisis of Conscience also in easy access. With music going in my computer that I would never have listened to while I was a witless.

Yeah Wiz - and if it wasn't for the general public reaction, you could even wallpaper with porn!

Though if you were Bill Gates you would have LCD walls and click on your Apple mouse!

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

I have trouble getting into Thoreau in huge chunks, but tidbits like this are timeless.

Glad to hear you've finally joined the living!

    So true Jeff !

I am right there with you . The other day I woke up and thought " oh my goodness it feels sooo good now to awake and not feel that drudery ahead of me like I use to feel ."

I really feel Happy now . Like a weight has lifted off my shoulders .

It would be easy to feel robbed of all my younger yrs, But I choose to just feel fortunate that I awoke when I did and that I didn't waste one more day doing something that made me feel so inferior .
