    The Old Hippie,
    >Like someone once said, that atheists are the most boring people there are, because they only want to talk about religion all the time.

    Man, that's great!

As usual the Fundy-YECs chime in with their nonsense. The fact is that there is no evidence for a global flood a few thousand years ago. None. Nada. Zip.

    Got it yet?

    No, of course not.

Proof: No YEC can set forth a single thing, or set of things, that proves that a global flood occurred. No YEC can show why hundreds of disproofs of their notions are wrong.

Ilustration: YECism states that virtually all of the earth's sedimentary rock layers were laid down in Noah's Flood. One of hundreds of disproofs from geology is this simple fact: Dinosaur nests complete with unhatched eggs are found intact in a number of sedimentary layers. It is impossible that intact nests could survive a massive, global flood that had such destructive force that it laid down miles of sediments in a few months.

Another illustration: Footprints and even complete trackways of all sorts of ancient animals, including dinosaurs, are found in the very sediments supposedly being laid down in the Flood. It is impossible for trackways to be laid down when the surface of the sediment is under hundreds of meters of surging Flood water.

I could go on for several hundred pages, but this should be sufficient to evoke the usual amusing non-response from our local YECCies.

Well Rex and Old Hippie, your most inspiring and educational remarks are typical of those who detest knowledge and have gross intolerance for anything threatening their ego which has been enculturated with religious mind viruses. Still, your thoughts about atheists made me think that maybe I should take another look at the Bible, and when I open it what do I find? These scriptures in 1 Corinthians 15:

13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.-New International Version (NIV)

Hmmm, I would rather use a tool proven over and over to be useful and reliable to one that has never been proven to be true and become the most pitful type of person. I had enough of that B.S. in the Watchtower, you guys just can't get enough can you?

Hey, what about the trading links that 'suddenly' appeared after the flood. Life goes on....then all of a sudden the earths population goes to 8. Yet within a short period of time civilisations were established. Including the building of the tower of babel within a generation or 2!

Right Rex, science changes - but every day, not every ten years. And the name of the change is progress. Progress while the churches wonder around in circles with their thumbs up their asses, to which the continued belief in the world-wide flood is ample testimony. And it is also testimony, as well, to the primitive concepts of God harbored by all who believe in such a primitive, bloodthirsty, human-like God. You folk are no better than the Gods you've invented.
