  The end is so close and we know that times are desparate.
  We want the brothers to fully feel the encouragement and reliance on
  each other that the Kingdom Hall meetings provides. The elimination of
  small bookstudy groups allows us to appreciate each other all the more
  so as the day draws near. It also frees up more time for the ministry and
  gives several of the elders more opportunity to shepherd the flock in such
  times of great tribulation.

  (There's really no challenge in justifying anything they do. Especially when
  the members are so busy cheering.)

  The fact is no matter what they say, the people will eat it up. They are fully brainwashed to love what the society says, and will hamper any doubts.

  I remember wondering if the book studies were actually happening in other people's homes. Maybe they were'nt.

  Also, I'm quite sure that less than 20% of our KH members were attending anyway. Hardly seemed worth it.

  I think they will say something like this:

  Jehovah's organization periodically adjusts to the current world climate and state of affairs and have found

  the time appropriate to make a change in our meeting structure. As everybody knows, gasoline prices have

  escalated to the point that some of the brothers and sisters have found it extremely difficult, especially in the

  rural areas to travel to meetings three times per week. So the FDS has made a loving arrangement whereby

  the Tues. nite book study will now be combined with the TMS and SM. Also, this will free up an extra evening during

  the week for those pioneering and others who would like to consider entering pioneer service. Family responsibilities

  sometimes prevent those who would like to pioneer from being able to devote their weekends to this endeavor. By

  opening Tues. evenings up to another field service oppportunity, more of you can seriously consider the pioneer work.

  This is another loving provision by the FDS whereby the door is being opened for increasing our opportunities for preaching

  the good news of the Kingdom as the end draws nearer and nearer. Let's all accept this loving provision and use it wisely

  in Jehovah's service.
