What an excellent reply. The fact you're happy flies in the face of everything he knows. It's really the best way to talk to JWs after you've left. It dismantles the entire idea that leaving JWs makes you sad, depressed, and down-trodden.

if you have a scab you have to pick off your heart before it can start working again. And if that scab stays where it is and thickens, you will absolutely see things happening at the same time everyone else in Jehovah's organization does and will sit in misery not being able to move.

    Scab...gross.

    don't be pickin' your scabs.

    You dented pan, you.

You've got to wonder if JWs even think about their "illustrations". Since when did picking scabs aid the healing process?

    wow, justitia.... amazing letter indeed.....

i have used it as a template to construct a letter that may or may not get sent...... i am not sure how fully i want to engage in this nonsense as the summer is looming and i dont want to spend any time dealing with b0rgishness

so here is the culmination of my effort

    Dear XXXXXXXX

XXXXXXX and I received both your letters and whilst we are somewhat uncertain as to why you felt that step of duplicate correspondence necessary, we do understand and appreciate that your intentions are motivated by a kind and loving spirit.

We are still recovering as a family, and making incredible strides to reconstruct a meaningful, workable and dependable structure from which to heal of the deeply egregious wounds and continue forward in our lives, still in contact with and in full support of those most damaged, loving them and standing with them, as is the duty and responsibility of every loving parent.

Our successes outweigh setbacks, and for the time being, no one is dependent on pharmaceuticals for their pervasive sense of well being. This has been accomplished with hard work and a mindset of perseverance to salvage the sense and feeling of what it means to be family. No fleshly person walked that path with us, but every day since, and until now, I have prayed, ranted, cursed, beseeched, demanded, begged and wept for His guidance. " Vocatus atque non vocatus, Deus aderit" ( Invoked or not invoked, God is here.) Not once have I felt abandoned by Him.

One thing we cannot do and will not entertain is to once again immerse ourselves or our children in a context of doomsday prophesying. I know you believe it is a means to salvation, and no price is too great to pay for that gift, but that is not what we need right now. Fear of destruction is not an element that is useful in this process.

If God is truly able to read hearts, and I believe that to be true with every fiber of my being, then He can read ours and He alone will be the judge of what is or is not deserving of His graciousness and mercy.

it is my hope to avoid the appearance of being righteous overmuch... so your insights are requested and welcomed......

thank you all for the support and ideas

The Kingdom Hall is like a doughnut factory.

The people who "work" there are all very nice people.

The "owners" of the factory allow rats to take a dump in the ingredients, however.

When it shows up they blame the workers and embarass them and make a big show of punishing them.

But, the "owners" insist on buying their supplies from a contaminated source and won't change.

They insist there is nothing wrong.

You were an employee, but, picking rat turds out of the doughnuts and pretending everything was okay got to be too much for you.

    You left.

Now, the really nice workers want you to know how much they miss you.

"It's just a few rat turds! Nobody has died from it! We can pluck it out and send the doughnuts out to the public at large with a clear conscience." They write you.

    Now, I ask you.

1.Is the issue how much they miss you? Or, is it the presence of contaminants?

2.Should you keep silent and go back to work since the factory doesn't belong to you and it isn't your responsibility?

3.Should you go back and start complaining and getting others into trouble?

You see how clear it all is?

Stay focused on the REAL ISSUE.

The job of a Jehovah's Witness is to distribute tasty-looking doughnuts containing rat shit! It doesn't frickin' matter how nice they are or how much they need the job!

It doesn't frickin' matter how much they like you or want you back!

YOU HAVE A CONSCIENCE and they don't.

His attitude is that you need to come back to Jehovah, not realizing that maybe you have never left Jehovah....He thinks of the organization as Jehovah I suppose.

But nonetheless, there is something different now. There is an urgency growing in the organization that is absolutely palpable. I have been a Witness for 37 years and I have never seen a sense of urgency like I see now.

Ummm. Helloooo Brother ????. Did you forget 1975?
