Yay! I smell Jehovah's Witnesses' League Bowling Night every Tuesday, all over the country, don't you?

They (meaning the Governing Body) knew exactly what they were doing by announcing this eight months in advance.

The r&f will stick around another year in anticipation of SOMETHING BIG IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN!

DING DING DING! We have ourselves a winner....

The PO who read the letter commented after reading "Sometime in the New System, we'll look back and say 'I remember when that announcement was read!' "

    Huh?

I thought that glorious life in the "New System" would override previous memories.

Does anybody here have links to any non-apostate "active JW" message boards we can go shadow/lurk in? I do NOT want to post... just want to see what their thoughts are about this, read their posts...

I've only been to two memorials and one or two meetings in the past 3 years, but I still have a few JW acquaintances outside of my immediate family. A few of them got in contact with me today to share the "exciting" news with me. The general tone was that the end is NEAR.

Apparently the friends are really worked up about it. I asked how a change in the meeting schedule reveals that we are any closer to Armageddon and I got a cold response. This person was not very happy to hear me ask logical questions. I suppose that shows and independent spirit, and we all know how horrible independent thought is. By this person's reaction, you would think that it says it right there in Matthew Chapter 24 that in the last days the weekly congregation meeting schedule would get shorter and shorter until the End has arrived.

It's pretty damn silly, grown people getting all worked about having the weekly book study eliminated from their weekly schedule. These poor souls have staked their lives on this religion being true, and they’re desperately looking for anything, however small it might be, to validate their decision.

The couple I told were seriously surprised. They were resistant at first, (I told them yesterday), and by today they called to tell me how wonderful it all is. So sad. They had their BK Stdy on Mondays, I guess they'll be able to watch Heroes now... Edited to ad: I believe that the "spirituality" and membership ranks will "go down" resulting in fewer active members and attenders. W.Once

Brooklyn just pulled the string that will unwravel what little social fabric they had left out on the Witness world.

Some members will wait to see which way the carrot will dangle next year...I see this as the start of the "love of the greater number cooling off"

Whatever the spin is later on look to see a big shift in how JW's see themselfs in relationship with the Society and the world around them

"Woe to those who are craving the day of Jehovah..." - Amos 5:18

"He said: "Look out that you are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, 'I am he,' and, 'The due time has approached.' Do not go after them." - Luke 21:8

My son just came home flaming mad, seems as if the SKY IS FALLING to many of the younger ones around here. They are telling him he needs to get back to meetings now, cause Armaggedon must be coming soon. I haven't ever really been sure how he feels about the borg, but now I'm pretty sure he is never going back.To quote him , " The society is FULL OF S***". ATTA BOY!

What are all the bs overseers going to do with their spare time? And what about losing control?
