The more I read of the Bible. The less religious I become.
Poster Mr. Majestic earlier on thread puts a reason to words well.

People here and everywhere are at different points in their life, and spiritual journey.

We all are not on the same page.

How does God talk to you?

Why does he always talk to someone else but not to me?

The rules He creates are no good. He punishes people for doing things that actually cause no harm to themselves and/or society, and adds harm that didn't need to exist. Which prevents people from enjoying themselves to the fullest extent that they were supposed to have.

Worse, man interprets God's instructions for their own selfish interests. We have seen that with the Catholic church. The Washtowel Slaveholdery is a prime example of that. Spending all your time in field circus and missing out on romantic, educational, and/or vocational opportunities sucks when done in the name of God, because a few humanoids purposely misinterpreted the Bible for their selfish agendas.

I would rather listen to Jesus, at the core essence of his message (which is difficult for us conscious thinkers to actually get to because he was speaking to bicameral people). The core message is that stagnation caused by excessive rules is the root cause of much of our other problems. Most people living a debauched lifestyle are doing so only because they need escape from stagnation. And, Jesus sought to get people free from that kind of stagnation.

And, of course, Satan who had the exact same message.

Hi real one. The thing for me is that you and others may interperate obedience against man made do's and don'ts. Just because I don't do and say the things you want to hear, you tell me to watch out, christ is going to get me, when you have on clue whether or not I am obeying him or not. Peace

So real one when are you going to start up your own religion, you sound like you heading in that direction ?

Do you think you can handle the power ?

why do i need to start a religion when i myself rely on God's inspired word and Holy spirit to lead me? I need His power as much as the next person ruling me. I am just being a disciple and trying to make disciples, thats all.

    Real One,

Thanks for offering, but I'm not interested. Why do Christians feel the need to change everyone? We are all perfect the way we are.

White Dove, have you not paid attention to Real One's message? People like us need REPENTANCE, or we'll pay the price.

Christianity invents the problem (man has fallen) and then creates what to many of us is a dubious answer (follow a possibly-mythical Christ and a very-imperfect Bible to be "saved"). Maybe it's because of having spent so long in the JW's, but I feel an abhorrence to trying to preach to people or be preached at.

When I get preached to, my claws come out. Who the hell do they think they are, anyway, to criticize others and push their opinions on them?!

Real One asks the important questions but then, sadly, his/her ears are blocked to the reasonable points posters make . They say we need to ensure that we haven't fallen prey to yet another of the endless interpretations of what specifically God's will is. The world is stuffed full of people earnestly claiming to be "just" doing "God's will" but who actually rely on it being interpreted and explained other than by scripture. Funny that each person who claims to be "just" following "God's will" behaves so differently from the next person who claims to be "just" doing "God's will".

The JWs are only one of sooooo many examples. I'm happy that Real One at least is not at all bothered by this.
