It's not that simple of course but I would certainly appreciate the freedom and time that cash in the bank would give me.

That about covers it. Money would allow me to stay home from work longer, or even retire early, so I wouldn't have to go to work when my back is acting up as it's been doing for the last week. I'm back on the job today, and everyone's staring at me as I walk down the hall taking "baby steps".
30 years of back trouble is starting to get to me.

I think money makes you happier up until the middle class line. Once you reach middle class, more money doesn't = happiness.
