    Definitely agree with you.

"Return of the King" was the most undeserving Best Picture since "The Sound of Music". As brutal as the film was, "Mystic River" should have won. Of the nominees, I liked "Seabiscuit" better, but "Mystic River" was outstanding and the better film.

I am waiting for a Japanese studio to pick up Tolkien and make an anime version. LOTR lends it self better to anime, in that anime doesn't have to fit a time length it can be ten hours if need be not just three also it is much cheaper and the only to do certain things from literature.

    Oh, people, I'm heartbroken.

Some of my favorite movies: LOTR (all three), The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, Fiddler on the Roof, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, and The Passion of the Christ.

Absolutely hated Titanic, Blair Witch, Something About Mary, and Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars. Loved Episodes 4-6, though.

I agree that Raiders was great but Temple of Doom was stupid. Walked out of it. Walked out of Airplane, too.

Lake Placid was stupid. Walked out of Bats. Reds was way too long and boring. I fell asleep. I thought the Four Feathers was a first-rate second-rate movie. Can't believe Nick Cage got an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas. Elisabeth Shue was the only good thing about that movie.

I totally hate all those stupid Mummy movies with Brendan Frasier.

However, one of my all time favorites is Streetcar Named Desire with Marlon Brando. "Stel-la!"

I almost forgot: the worst movie of recent memory: Gods and Generals.

The worst old movie my husband makes me watch with him: Jason and the Argonauts.

Overrated movies I guess would be movies that are ridiculously popular or excellently reviewed but aren't worth the hype. My list:

Babel- Various annoying people do incredibly stupid things and get screwed. Nice going, idjits.

Bowling for Columbine- Depends on your political leanings, but objectively speaking, it sucked.

    The Insider- YAWN.

Pirates of the Carribean 1,2,3- I like Depp, but each one is worse than the one before.

    New King Kong- Boooring.

Ocean's 11,12,13- Make it stop! Your banter is NOT witty!

Shrek series- Mike Meyers is only marginally funny at his best. And that was called Austin Powers.

Gosford Park- Exactly who is the target audience here, if not people like me? Boooring.

A History of Violence- Dumb, unimaginative, slow, pointless. So many descriptors from which to choose.
