I have been around soldiers who have killed in combat. They don't like to talk about it. Much less brag about it.

It's not healthy to be bragging about kills even justified ones while drunk. Your friends is another casualty and needs help.

Most soldiers I have talked to about any fight nearly cry because of losing friends and remorse of taking that loss out on someone who was doing the same job just on the wrong side sometimes later to find they weren't (see fratricide which is still a problem). War is never fun it is war.

Could be, I can't see how he couldn't be! Either way he's going back but to provide security for a firm over there and not as a soldier. He will be pulling 6 figures and watching camera monitors. Beats working at the local supermarket. His fiance works with my wife. I hope he keeps safe.
