2001 Service Year World Report from Service
    Committee
    Opening Scriptures:
    1 Thessalonians 2:4:

But, just as we have been proved by God as fit to
    be entrusted with the
good news, so we speak, as pleasing, not men, but God,
    who makes proof of
    your hearts

    Psalms 96:2:
Sing to Jehovah, bless his name. From day to day
    tell the good news of
    salvation by him.

    Colossians 1:5,6:

Because of the hope that is being reserved for YOU
    in the heavens. This
[hope] YOU heard of before by the telling of the truth
    of that good news
which has presented itself to YOU, even as it is
    bearing fruit and
increasing in all the world just as [it is doing] also
    among YOU, from the
day YOU heard and accurately knew the undeserved
    kindness of God in truth.

I might point out that the percentage increase in the average publisher count is the lowest in at least fourteen years.

It must be the demons infesting the Internet.

The Watchtower states: Average Printing Each Issue 23,042,000, Awake! 20,682,000.

Mybe this are the magazines printed in Brooklyn alone?

i'm sure a bethelite would point this out....

magazines are printed in walkill ny

as well as at other branches throughout the world.

they are not printed in brooklyn.

and those figures seem right to me for a worldwide circulation.

but hey......no one asked me right?

What you mean? If the WT-impressum states "Average Printing Each Issue 23,042,000" than it's 276'504'000 WT a year isn't it?

Oh since it's semimonthly it's more than half a billion!

    Or am I wrong onthat

I haven't seen the figures and until they are published on line by the WTS I can't add them to my spreadsheet. It is interesting because the figures quoted here from the loyal dub are the best news.

Yet 263431 baptized is down 9% on last year and 19% on the 1999 service year.

It took 4438 hours of preaching to make a baptized convert. The average JW is doing 16.6 hours per month (includes pioneers) so it takes on average 22 years for the average JW to make a convert.

At 22 years each it would appear that children are the main source of baptized converts.

One other thing. The peak publishers (the most contrived figure by the WTS and good for manipulating the best high figure) increased by 82,102 on the last service year. In that time 263,000 converts were made.

That means 181,000 are missing from the ranks.
