  Hello "thankful" and welcome to the board:

  Thanks for the input of JW stats...great spin on the figures by the JWs as usual eh? It'll be interesting to see the whole picture to compare, when it comes out the WT.

  Its interesting to see how they will point out the (seeming) % increases but only give the figures (like number baptized)for the year, when we know there's a decrease from the previous years)

  Nice to see your first post... and looking forward to hearing your thoughts on things. Hope you continue to post!!!

  Thanks Thirdson: for the analysis of these figures and helping us to see part of the real picture....not the one the WTS is trying to paint.

  Let's see...

  66,111,852 Booklets, Magazines, etc.

  Average Printing Each Issue 23,042,000 x 2 per month x 12 months=

  553,008,000 per year of the WT only (we won't even factor in Awake)

  Bottom line: That's a lot of garbage going in the landfills. I hope JW's use their recycle bins.

  What no ones mentioned is that huge increases are taking place in developing countries and the numbers are dropping in many affluent countries, particularly in Europe.

  In those poverty-stricken countries where the Memorial attendance ratio is 4, 5, or 6 times the number of Pubs,

  I wonder what many of those attendees think they are going to when they are invited to the "Lord's Evening Meal"?
