    Hi Six,

    LOL!

Zazu, Thanks for sharing that experience. You know, in the Bible there is a lot of talk of 'casting lots,' and Joseph divined using his silver cup. And Rachel absconded with the family teraphim, was it? And the Jews had teraphim, etc.

There's a lot of that, come to think of it, in the Bible. Even in the NT, there was talk of a cripple being let into the water when it was disturbed.

IMHO, the Bible is like a fiddle that can play just about any tune.

I'm headed off to library and Barnes&Noble to check them out!

    Cheers!

Nope, no problems with demons or the like. However, I don't believe in demons, and approach it with the knowledge that it is my own intuition. I'm not sure what someone's psyche could manifest if they're still strongly into the JW fear based mindset.
And also, you can still be an atheist and explore the unknown and "mystical". Just approach it with the scientific method, and critical thinking. As I said, these are ways to access one's own subconscious. I'm glad the great physicists of the world do not except everything in our current known reality as all we could ever possibly know, and close their minds to even exploring anything else.
Explore away! and enjoy your journey.
    Love,

    Thanks Bridgette,

I agree it's a way of tapping into one's subconscious, much the same way prayer was in actuality, imho.

The demon thing is just a leftover from JW's theology. Actually, it doesn't seem that OT folks believed much in demons either as there is very little mention of it.

    Hi all,

Well, I got my set of Runes and started reading the book. Scary from a JW point of view.

I cast them once and they seemed on point! It was uncanny. I'm recording the results each time I do it. They don't tell you what to do, though.

Actually, it was a little unhelpful in that it just said there was a "disruption," then "breakthrough," then "unknowable, yet significant."

What has happened in my life in the last month is a complete estrangement with a family member and turnaround in my behavior for the past 5 years or so (the disruption).

The breakthru is my having strength to see the right course through--I've been seeing a therapist about a "serious co-depency problem."

Then, the 3rd, the unknowable could be a very significant change in my life. Actually, I have peace and rest for the 1st time this year practically!

Well, it's just a game, right? One time does not make it true! Maybe I should go chat with Uncle Bruce about his divining sticks . . .

    Just my 2 cents!

    Hey Sweet Sis!

About the subconscious, I've read where you can request your subconscious to think about specific things before you go to bed - laying out the problem, the different solutions (or not), and ask it to think about it for you.

I've tried it, and has about the same ratio of success as doing the same thing - but call it praying. It's the same idea - lay out the problem, the probable solutions, and ask for guidance.

When I did this as a jw - it worked and spooked me badly!

Some people do the "fast writing" stuff - wherein a person just writes and writes and writes......slowly the mind just stops filtering and allows free thought.

Btw, Patio, I hate to be the one to point this out, but at this rate, you are really going to suck as an atheist! - 6
Gotta go with him on this one.

Hi Ozboy, Welcome! You're probably right about it being a load of c___!

Waiting--Ha! you're being very sweet and sensible in your reply, but what a difference on the phone when you practically fell on the floor laughing! Sure, make everyone think you're that nice to me! LOL!

    Nelly, thanks for the site.

    Cheers!
