.....ahh Texas CPS screws it up again!
........
One of the biggest and quite possibly fatal mistakes that CPS made, was not removing the men that offered themselves up in order to leave the women and kids at the homes. There was no rationale for that. There was also no apparent attempt by CPS to investigate the individual homes inside the community either in order to ascertain who, when and where any alleged abuse could be confirmed and that would be practical standard protocol in most normal situations.
Abuse cannot be condoned - but where are the abusers? Why did the sherriff have to wait 4 long years for a reason to infiltrate and why set a plant up inside to get information all that time? In reality, if the law had set up an informant inside the whole time - basically since the ranch was built, then did that sherriff already have some preconcieved ideas about the sect that offended him on a moral or religious ground even prior to the raid. It doesn't seem reasonable to stand back and allow a huge community to be built so that you can link up to an informant in order to bring it down. If you were that concerned about abuse, then why wouldn't you make some noise years before and start investigations up from the start - why wait 4 years and if abuse was rampant, why wasn't it reported then? Why have no charges been made against the woman who made the phone calls to Jessop that in turn sent in the snipers?
...I have to wonder how many religious organizations have been in contact secretly with the FLDS lawyers or headquarters in support for them, since although many protest the lifestyle of the sect, they know that they in turn could find themselves fighting against any State once precedence has been set. Interesting case. sammieswife
