It never ends, does it...the "guilt factor"?

    From the JW Bible:

"Shall I give my firstborn son for my revolt, the fruitage of my belly for the sin of my soul? 8 He has told you, O earthling man, what is good. And what is Jehovah asking back from you but to exercise justice and to love kindness and to be modest in walking with your God?" (Micah 6:7b-8)

God has provided us our maternal and paternal instincts. They are blessings. God help you if you place yourself between a mother (or father) and child! The only explanation I can find for ALLOWING a child to die unnecessarily is to stifle natural, God-given instincts to sacrifice children on the watchtower altar for their parent's sins. Only a person so "possessed" could defy nature in such a fashion and with such cruelty.

And yet even the JW Bible gives the practicing JW an answer to this artificially-created dilemma.

What is the best case result for this?

Will a decision in Canada result in more cases in courts in other countries?

This could still go nowhere, or it could snowball.

I titled this topic incorrectly, and I'm sorry. I blame it on the facts that I read and posted this article before I had my morning coffee, and because I was so excited to see my sentiments and those of many others on this board, echoed by someone outside of the organization. Upon my first reading and posting of this article, I thought the case had been won. Here's hoping that that is the case in the near future. Then maybe the western world can go after the WTB&TS wholesale on their disgusting pedophilia problem.

What is the best case result for this?

    Best case?

The court actually agrees with the opinion expressed by Juliet Guichon and recognizes the element of coercion within the JW community.

This would be a devastating blow to the JW organization

About time! Congratulations to the legal team!

Why does it have to come to this that a religion demands blood sacrifice and death of a child.

Jehovah's Witnesses are the modern day Baal worshippers!

Don't get too excited just yet - this actually was only an editorial - decision has not yet been reached...you need to read the entire thread...just an fyi

Poor information is NOT the same as DELIBERATE MISREPRESENTATION.

    Nice try though.

If the courts understood how a 14 year old, brainwashed mind works, they would step in.

Like I said before, I'm very grateful that the HLC didn't step in for me.

Edited to say: Thank GOD my Daddy had common sense.

The wbts CANNED the remarks for the brain washed innocent child by the term "being raped and violated"

In Canada the legal term is sexual assault per 273.1 of the Canada criminal code.

I posted on another thread that the Supreme Court had reserved judgement after hearing the case. The article also said the decision may not come for months.

I will party when it happens. I lost my JW mom to this nonsense and many years ago, my now ex-wife and I both refused transfusions for our newborn. The docs thought eventually our baby would need blood. We were prepared to 'kidnap' our baby with the silent help of 'the brothers', as it was, our newborn got better -- and wasn't sacrificed.

So, yeah...I'll party when I know my kids and grand-kids won't die from the WT gods ignorance.
