As far as the elders, they will likely be rotating conducting the BS at the KH but I understand that the groups will remain as it pertains to "field circus." This is actually the reverse of what was happening shortly before we left. There were not meetings for "field circus" at private homes. That is the only way the wives would agree to a weekly traipsing through their houses. They did not want it twice a week.

I wonder if they will be meeting at private homes for "field circus"?

Wow. In my area it was some good CO's that kept bodies of Elders who were prone to stupidity in line. Without that check some of these BOE's are going to act like independent contractors and it's not going to be pretty.

Thats correct, however I think exiting Co's could join forces with the better Elders (with some level of demotion for your rank & file Elder)and control each congregation more rigidly.

I can't really see the need for that. A lot of the wives would not be too happy if they had to make the effort every week to tidy up just for a 15 minute session.

If they (elder and wife) were planning on staying home that morning they would still have to accommodate the group.

Instead I can see them all meeting at the hall but each old study group still be under the "control" of a specific elder who would make all the arrangement for his "group".

Sceptical on this one. It's totally counter-intuitive to more centralised control. Will believe it if and when an official announcement is made.

Yeah, but what about Kingdom Halls where 3, 4, or even 5 congregations meet? You could have 300 people there on a Saturday morning in a Hall with capacity for 150.

They'll have to continue with meeting in private homes on Saturdays.

True, but when has the Society ever given a flying fig about whether women are happy or not?

In the case of having meetings in the home, my experience has been that the women call the shots. We had the BS in a home but had to meet elsewhere on Saturday morning because the wife did not want the extra work and intrusion and she was not the exception. It was even hard to find people willing or "qualified" to have a BS in their home. At one point there were 3 BS at the KH.

That would be the ideal scenerio : five or six congregations with 300 publishers meeting at the KH on Saturday morning for field service.

However, I don't see an average of 50 or 60 from each congregation gathering together every Saturday. Maybe half per congregation is realistic. Home meetings for field service will be optional. Regard;ess. I see field service on the decline in terms of a large percentage of the congregation all meeting together on any particular day during the week....unless the CO is in town.

The CO will have to stay in one way, shape or form. Perhaps a title change. Perhaps less visits per year. Perhaps a substitute local elder. But the CO (aka Field Manager) will need to keep tabs on local congregations for reports back to headquarters. This is just like any major company.
