It actually was no big deal. There was only 1 scriptures read and it was in Psalms. Btw, I was kidding about spiking there drink, lol. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I decided that they may in fact not know they are doing nothing to help me. They may really feel like they are doing something loving towards me. So, I made them dinner. We had a nice conversation and not to much was said about scriptural stuff. Half the night I was in the kitchen getting stuff, clearing stuff, etc, etc. This took some of the tension off me cause I had an easy excuse to leave if I wanted and that in general just made me feel more comfortable so I had no reason to feel forced to stay right there all the time. It went fine. I had a nice time. They told stories, we told stories and overall it was a really enjoyable time. Of course, I made the juice out of pure real fruit in the blender and a I served a salad and I think one of the elders may have wanted to get the hell out of there after awhile. I don't think he was comfortable the whole night. lol, oops... So, still can continue with my fade especially once we switch halls.

That's good to hear. Yeah... sometimes the JW folks mean well... they're just a tad mis-guided.

I'm glad it turned out so well. Yes, a way to a JW's heart is through the stomach. It's hard to counsel anyone feeding you. Hehe! I suspect you defused a possible counseling session quite well.

I don't know if I would have cooked them dinner. Now they may want another sheparding call just to get a free meal!!!
Glad it all worked out!!

Henry Ford had a policy I adopted as my own and it worked well every time. He never had a meeting in his own office. He said if you have a meeting in your own office you are trapped, so he had most meetings in Harry Bennett's office.
In my business, I had most meetings in my foreman's office so I could leave at any time. I can't get up and leave someone sitting in my office. I don't have meetings in other people's offices because that puts me at a disadvantage.
I have talked to Witnesses in my home but only at my invitation, like a cat that invites the mouse over for lunch:-) I did talk to two elders who made a "missing employee" first call on me after I hadn't attended any Watch Tower Publishing Corporation sponsored events for 9 years. I was curious what they would say. I could see why they hadn't bothered to call on me for 9 years. They are idiots. They spent the whole 9 years perfecting that designation.
I don't really like Witnesses much, but the elders are kind of useful for entertainment, sort of like a pin-ball-machine. It's fun to watch em flip the ball back and forth, there's a "Do Not Tilt" sign on their foreheads, and eventually all the balls go down the hole and the game's over.
