May 22, 1994, Awake released, 31 years ago. Some here on this discussion have suggested that this is the most distasteful & most despicable magazine cover & article printed. In hindsight, it would seem inconceivable that the leaders back in 1994 would actually present this disgraceful propaganda in such a heartless manner. I find it astounding that NY headquarters envisioned that this reading material, offered freely to the general public, would somehow endear or draw people to join this deadly cult.
This article depicted stories of beautiful young children that had martyred themselves by refusing a blood transfusion. This was presented as an admirable, courageous, example of faithful young ones in their pursuit & belief of pleasing God & putting his commands first in their lives. Since the leaders are still hanging onto this doctrine, why not release such bold & brave information again. Times have changed, in today’s world & environment the leadership would be vilified by every news agency & media source available.
How many could have been saved if blood fractions were an acceptable conscious decision as they seem to be 31 years later? Flip Flop decision making can be a dangerous stunt!
