Not a good thing.....
Most of us can fight off bacteria if not exposed to people taking antibiotics. Antibiotics kill bacteria but also our ability to fight infections from the general population.
The problem is people get Viruses and run to the Dr. ... thinking anitbiotics will kill it. No such thing, These Doctors prescribe the antibiotics......The Viruses run their course and the antibiotis kill what needs to handle the next problem.
We now have bacteria that is so resistant in the general population, you can get very sick and die........
Yes wash your hands in very hot water and often, don't run and get anti biotics for the first signs of a cold.
We are all in very deep trouble.....There are terrible bacterial infections now common and the antibiotics cost a fortune and cannot always do the job.

Restrangled, I couldn't agree more. Even the anti-bacterial hand soaps that have become so popular are contributing to the "super bug" problem. I am afraid we're becoming a world of "hot house flowers" that are vulnerable to the slightest germ attack. I see where TB is coming back strong and invulnerable to treatment! That's scary.

Yuck That's how the Ebola Virus got started! One Jackass who didn't wash his hand.....at my work we often buy chips and dips and lollies to share.....one week 10 people caught Gastro.....we had half the crew down and out....wonder why?.....Stats. show the peanuts in a Bar are 20% Pee and 80% nuts...if you want to be healthy wash your damn hands. Antibotics are over-used and fed to chickens and other meat....not good of course.
