hal i appreciate the comment. i learn very well with how they convince people.very bothering yes but when i do go to watch i will not argue with them.i cant really because im not one to start a conflict. they can say however much they like and ill be respectable about it. as for her she plans to go to college and become a nurse. myself i also plan to go to college(if thats what u meant by higher education haha). my major is somewhere along the lines of electric engineering(i have been taking classes at school to prepare myself). i do no wish to argue with her since that is what im trying to avoid. i only want her opinion on many of the things she thinks about of the religion. from there i will work it however it goes. i will be cautious when around them.

Well, I'm not sure what it is you're even looking for, specifically. Be aware that "information on contradicting the religion" is a vast thing -- there is a lot of it. As I suggested above, go to http://www.jwfacts.com. There you will see links about various topics, some or many of which might grab your attention and apply to your situation. The information is well-organized and easy to follow. No one can just give you a list of "things that contradict the religion," it's going to take some research on your part. That site is a very good place for you to start IMO.

And listen to the advice others have already mentioned here. Stay focused on your education and your future, and don't go into a JW study/conversation/whatever until your eyes are wide open about what it's really all about. (In fact, my better advice is don't go into a JW study/conversation/whatever at all, but if you must, educate yourself first.)

    Good luck :-)

    Hi xig28,

You can pick apart the religion's doctrines, but this can be a complicated, time-consuming thing to do. When I was researching on my own, I wanted to use something that was not written by anti-JW people/apostates, so I bought this book:

How to Read the Bible: History, Prophecy, Literature--Why Modern Readers Need to Know the Difference, and What It Means for Faith Today

It doesn't even mention Jehovah's Witnesses, but it can be very powerful in showing the WatchTower's assertions to be false as it deals with recognising what the literature in the bible actually is. Get yourself a copy, read it, and consider using it with your girl (at school?).

The chapter on apocalyptica is especially relevant to JW's. They are going through their 'Revelation book' in their group study at the moment, and comparing the nonsense they teach with some real biblical scholarship could do wonders for her.

    eyes open,

thank you for the reconmendation of the book. i will be looking forward to ordering it and reading it as soon as possible especially with her. btw. i have recently gone to the hall with my grandmother(she is a jw as i mentioned before) the last 2 sundays and going to do a study with one of the members. though i abviously can tell many of their logic hardly makes sense and am currently looking upon the info they have provided with me and just contradicting against it around the research i do. i will not tell them though how i truly feel but i will make suggestion in questioning them. as for my friend-girl we are ok so far though i do have a problem with not being able to see her over the summer.(possibly i want her to try and see me even though it will be tough but still try no matter what) but we still talk. also what other section of the book is also reccomendable on reading through as well( if you have read it before). i will keep update on my situation. (and dont worry i wont be convinced from their studies, i can stand my ground).

so the last 2 studies i had, i noticed how they use SOOO much examples for many of their topics. i cant remember all of the example but they use stuff like "would you plant a seed of an old apple or use a new apple and plants it seed" to say that if i would keep doing somehting old or take a new look for myself(i dont think i said that last part right but its close? lol) anyways im still trying to do research inside and on the outside. either way i havent made any progress into believing the studies yet.

p.s. i am ver hyper right now lol
