My books. I remember reading The Diary of Anne Frank as a child and she mentioned that Jews were no longer allowed to purchase books. They could only borrow them from the library.
The Dark Ages came about because of a crisis of subsistence. People didn't have time to spend on things like education and music because they were consumed with survival. I worry a little about that, especially with many people working two and three jobs just to pay the bills. When do they have time to better themselves or their children?

Yes, there is one brand, (I saw it on vacation, don't remember the name,) that advertises still a 1/2 gallon, it was $6.99 and all the other brands were under $5.00.

They aren't under $5 here................$6.99..........the lowest I saw was $5.99. I still buy it. I think the store brands might still be 1/2 gallons, but I like the "gourmet" brands.

I agree with gregor. A dose of reality is needed on this board. Things aren't that bad, you all are posting here, using an internet service and computer that you paid for. Why not disconnect your ISP, sell your computer and buy some food for your(supposedly) starving bellies?
