There is one thing I promised myself that I would never give up when I was in my teens, and that one thing is air conditioning. I was 21 before I ever lived in a house with AC. I had a car without AC as well. In Georgia, that sucks! I am very spoiled now. Every vehicle I own must have AC cold enough to freeze meat and even though it is over 90 degrees outside, my house is 70 degrees right now. I will not have my house warmer than 72. Ever. I don't care how much the electric bill is.

Several have mentioned sex in the context of something they won't give up due to 'hard times'. I am not sure why they feel that sex is something tied into ones economic status. In underdeveloped so-called third world countries, where people are literally starving to death, the rate of conception goes way up. A natural human response to a threat of extinction.
