Jehovah was attempting to make another species of antelope, but he had a bit much to drink and fell asleep halfway through. He didn't make the front legs long enough so it had no choice but to jump around on its back legs. When he woke up and saw what he had created, he laughed so much that he decided to keep it that way. This is also how he created many other strange animals.
